The figurine is of an Adivasi working lady made by Dhokra craftsmen. The figurine is shown to be carrying two buckets, one on her head and the other supported on her waist. The woman is shown to be clad in her traditional attire which is beautifully designed by the craftsmen. The technique used to make this is called lost wax metal casting. The use of brass makes it very durable. The figurine can be used as a table décor and can also be placed with your other collection of folk art. Dhokra Art is being practiced in India since the time of Harappa and Mohenjodaro. Now-a-days this art is mainly prevalent in Central and Eastern India mostly in the states of Orissa, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. A non ferrous metal, mostly- Brass is used for making the products.
